About Department of History

   The Department of History was established in 1991. The department has Three faculties. History Department runs Bachelor’s Course. It means History subject is available as an optional subject for the B.A. students for their three years bachelor degree course. The Department organizes many activities for the development of students. For example guest lectures, workshops, study tours, field visits and various competition for students. Main feature of this department is student oriented approach which is achieved through adopting student centric teachinglearning practices. History Abhyas Mandala, is another feature of the department. Through student Association, department runs various student oriented activities and programmers. In the classrooms our focus is on student’s academic progress as well as their personality development with various social skills. Keeping in mind this goal the department motivates students to give seminars in classroom. Developing analytical ability and criticality with employability is the one of the objective of the department. So, along with various academic skills we believe in giving students various other soft skills to increase their employability. To sum up it can be said that this department is among the most active, student centric and vibrant departments with its academic growth and its reach beyond scholar
